Fused Glass Workshop - Curved fused glass panels: Spring Flowers with Jazz Dixon
Friday 19th April
10:30am - 12:30pm
£45, including refreshments
Using the exciting medium of colourful glass, you will be given expert guidance and tuition to create your very own floral panel. You will be shown how to create your own floral design. You can choose to make your design realistic or imaginary. The aim of the class is to have fun playing with the glass and learning how to use the glass to create your floral design. Once you have created your design, it will be taken away to be fired in the kiln. You can choose to have your final piece curved to create a free-standing panel or framed in a box frame.
During the morning, Jazz will talk about the range of techniques she uses within her glass fusing, and the different processes involved to create the pieces. You will be introduced to the project and have time to think about your own creative ideas. There will be a range of colours available to choose from. You will be introduced to glass cutting, and with expert guidance, you will have opportunity to learn how to cut and shape your glass to create the petals and leaves for your flowers.
There will also be time for lovely refreshments, to relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings, or browse the amazing shop.
By the end of the day you will have;
- Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and refreshments
- Understood the basic theory of glass fusing
- Had a go at glass cutting, and learnt some new skills
- Designed and completed ready for firing a floral panel
- Used your design skills and newly acquired glass skills to create your project

Fused Glass Workshop - Garden Flowers in Glass with Jazz Dixon

Spend the morning learning about the mysteries of glass, using off cuts of glass, recycling the glass to create beautiful glass flowers that can be wired to create a decorative glass posy, or individual glass brooches. You will learn how to cut and shape the glass to create individual petals that will then be layered to create your glass flowers. You will learn how to cut glass leaves to add to your glass flowers. There will be a range of colours to choose from.
Over the course of the morning Jazz will explain the range of techniques she uses and the processes involved to create fused glass. All the tools and safety equipment will be supplied alongside expert tuition. Your assembled flowers will be taken away and fired and returned approx. two weeks later for collection.
By the end of the day you will have;
- Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and refreshments
- Understood the basic theory of glass fusing
- Had a go at glass cutting and glass shaping
- Designed and completed ready for firing
- 3 individual 3d glass flowers with wire stems and 3 glass leaves
